Photos From Phone to TV, Without Cables

Thousands of photos on your phone, and when it comes to showing them, the screen barely fits two people. Gemivo Diashow puts your photos on the TV: pick a folder, pick the TV, the show runs. Via Chromecast, AirPlay or DLNA, with no cable at all.

The photo paradox: everything shot, nothing shown

Photos get taken for shared moments and then land in a library nobody opens. The reason is banal: the phone is a bad place for watching together. The screen is small, three heads do not fit in front of it, and whoever holds the phone swipes faster than anyone can look.

The TV in the living room solves this, if the photos get there. The classic routes are painful: hunting for a cable, the TV not recognizing the phone, a USB stick with the photos from 2019, or casting apps that sandwich your show between two ad videos.

A good slideshow app for the TV has to do three things: speak all the common transmission paths, present photos so they look good on a big screen, and make the process simple enough to work on the second glass of wine too.

How it works: pick a folder, pick the TV, done

Gemivo Diashow runs as a web app right in the browser, plus as an Android app and a PC version. You pick a folder of photos and videos, pick the TV as the target, and the show starts. The path depends on the device:

What separates a good slideshow from shuffling

A slideshow is more than photos in a row. Gemivo Diashow works on the spots where slideshows usually get embarrassing:

The duplicates point deserves a sentence more: anyone who has started a slideshow from a vacation folder knows the sequence of eight nearly identical sunset frames. Automatic removal turns raw material into the show you actually meant to present. For more control, clean the photos first with PhotoSweep.

Your photos stay your photos

Family photos are private photos. Gemivo Diashow runs on servers in Germany, and the transfer goes from your phone directly to the TV in your own living room. During the beta the app is free, after that it is part of the gemivo subscription.
