Family Calendar App: One Calendar for the Whole Family

Five people, four calendars, three group chats, and someone still misses the dentist appointment. Family-Pinnwand by Gemivo bundles the family into one app: a shared calendar that events land in via photo, plus chores, a shopping list and a board for the kitchen wall.

Why the shared family calendar stops working

Every family has its own calendar chaos, but the pattern is the same everywhere: the kids' dates travel on crumpled notes in backpacks, invitations arrive by message to one parent while the other hears about them two days later, and the paper calendar in the kitchen has not been updated since March. Shared digital calendars could fix this, but in practice they fail on maintenance: who enters what, and above all, who types out the info from the school letter and the birthday invite?

A family calendar app therefore has to attack both ends: it has to be the single place the family checks, and it has to make entering things so easy that it actually happens. That is exactly where the AI import of Family-Pinnwand starts.

Photo in, event in: the AI import

The school letter arrives, you take a photo, done: the AI reads out date, time and occasion and creates the events in the shared calendar. The same works for invitations, daycare notes or class schedules. That is the difference between a calendar app you should have and one you actually use: the hardest part of calendar maintenance, the transcription, disappears.

The calendar itself is a real family calendar: all members, all events, colors per person, on the phone and on the tablet. Permissions are clear too: parents manage, kids see their own events, and everything sits behind one family login. See how the app works.

More than a calendar: the pinboard for family life

The family board is the heart of it at home: instead of a pile of notes on the fridge, a tablet on the wall shows the day, upcoming events and the weather, in a cinematic dark or light mode. It replaces the paper calendar in the place the family actually walks past.

Data and privacy for family data

A family calendar knows almost everything about daily life: appointments, school, doctor visits, the kids' names. Family-Pinnwand therefore runs on servers in Germany, with one login per family and no data sharing with third parties. No advertising, no profiling, and anyone who wants out deletes everything, completely.

Family-Pinnwand runs as a PWA in the browser and as a standalone Android app, with one login for all devices. During the beta the app is free, after that it becomes part of the gemivo subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Does everyone in the family need the app?

No. Family-Pinnwand runs as a PWA in the browser, and there is an additional Android app. One family login covers all devices.

How exactly does the AI import work?

You photograph the school letter, invitation or note, the AI recognizes date, time and occasion and creates the events in the family calendar. Before saving, you see what was recognized.

Can kids take part?

Yes. Kids see their events and chores, and collect points for what they finish. Parents manage the calendar and the chores.

Where is our family data stored?

On servers in Germany, separated per family, with no sharing to third parties and no advertising.
